About Us

Welcome to the Pet Stylist Academy, part of the National Skills Training Institute (NSTI) — a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO #41462) in Australia specialising in animal care, grooming, and training education. We’re proud to help students turn their passion for animals into rewarding, lifelong careers.

At Pet Stylist Academy, we believe learning should be inspiring, hands-on, and career-focused. Our students are guided by experienced educators and industry leaders who are passionate about helping every student succeed, whether they’re beginning their journey or advancing their professional skills.

As a faculty of NSTI, we share a commitment to excellence in animal education alongside our sister faculty, the Dog Trainer Academy. Together, we’re building Australia’s most trusted network of training pathways for those who love animals and want to make a difference in their lives.

Pet Stylist Academy

The Pet Stylist Academy, located on the beautiful Gold Coast, is Australia’s largest and most respected dog grooming school. Established in 2013, the academy has built a strong reputation for its commitment to excellence, creativity, and industry leadership.

Our nationally accredited qualifications, including the ACM30122 Certificate III in Animal Care Services (Pet Grooming), provide students with the knowledge and practical experience to succeed as professional pet stylists. Training is delivered by internationally recognised Master Groomer Emily Myatt and a team of award-winning educators, who bring decades of experience to every class.

Students learn in state-of-the-art grooming studios, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques. The academy blends theory with practical learning, ensuring every graduate is job-ready and confident in their skills.

From beginners to advanced stylists, our courses are designed to build creativity, confidence, and professionalism — empowering graduates to work in grooming salons, mobile services, or even start their own successful grooming businesses.

Since its inception, the Pet Stylist Academy has proudly trained hundreds of graduates across Australia who now represent the highest standard of professional grooming.

Dog Trainer Academy

The Dog Trainer Academy is another faculty of NSTI and one of Australia’s leading institutions for professional dog training education. Based on the Gold Coast, the academy delivers nationally recognised qualifications for dog trainers, assistance dog trainers, and assistance dog handlers.

In partnership with Master of Puppies, one of Australia’s most respected and long-standing dog training organisations, the Dog Trainer Academy offers students unparalleled access to real-world experience, expert mentorship, and professional industry networks.

Students learn from award-winning trainers and behaviour specialists who bring decades of practical expertise to the classroom and training field. The academy’s programs — including the ACM40322 Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training and the ACMSS00035 Animal-Assisted Services – Assistance Dog Handler Skill Set — are built on evidence-based learning theory, positive reinforcement techniques, and ethical handling practices.

Through its commitment to hands-on training, personalised support, and industry collaboration, the Dog Trainer Academy prepares graduates to thrive in the growing dog training and assistance dog sectors — empowering them to make a lasting impact in both animal welfare and human–animal partnerships.
